This is the last article in a blog series in which a staff member who has been working at Yamamoto Kogaku for three years introduces the history of SWANS.
We have traveled through the history of our company and brand, and now I want to talk about the current SWANS and YAMAMOTO KOGAKU after such a long history.
Utilization of Light Control Technology
A lens technology that enhances or suppresses specific colors was originally used in our industrial safety protective equipment division of the brand "YAMAMOTO".
"Laser safety goggles", which are worn to protect the eyes of workers who use machines that emit laser beams, use this technology to "Cut specific light waves and make it visible the colors you want to see".
Making lenses is like making Curry?
The making of special lenses is sometimes likened to making Curry.
Just as various spices are mixed together to create a flavor, the types and amounts of materials that control the wavelengths (colors) of light are carefully combined to create a field of visibility that allows you to see what you want to see more clearly.
This lens technology can also fulfill requests such as "I want red and yellow to be seen clearly, but I want other colors to be suppressed".
Birth of the ULTRA LENS
The “ULTRA LENS” high-visibility lenses were born from this “light control technology.
With the birth of "ULTRA LENS", the brand has moved from conventional "sunglasses that suppress glare" to a brand that offers "eyewear that performs better than the naked eye".
Two ways of manufacturing to "Protect Eyes"
The lens technology developed at YAMAMOTO into SWANS, and the fit and design quality achieved by SWANS into YAMAMOTO. Industrial safety products and leisure products may seem to be completely different fields, but they both "Protect the eyes".
We develop products and technologies by crossover of knowledge from both fields in the same company.
