Importance of snow goggles
Wearing goggles while sliding on the snow is advised during winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, etc.) for a safer and more comfortable time.
By using goggles, you can maneuver through the various light conditions reflecting off the snow and protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, snow, wind, and dust while constantly maintaining a clear field of vision.
Wear goggles and enjoy winter sports the safe and comfortable way.
Three points to consider when selecting snow goggles
1) Select an accompanying helmet which fits your head
The shape of a Japanese user's and a Western user's head differs greatly. If accompanying goggles do not match the user's head size, they cannot protect against wind, snow, or UV rays. When selecting goggles, check to make sure there is no gap between them and the nose, cheeks, and forehead and that there are no obstructions when breathing.
All of SWANS goggles cut over 99.9% of UV rays.
2) Select a lens which will cut UV rays well
UV rays cause great damage not only to your skin but eyes. The snow surface reflects strong UV rays, making countermeasures to deflect the rays of incredible importance. When picking out goggles, check their degree of UV protection, making sure to choose those which will adequately cut out UV rays.
3) Select a lens with a permeation rate suited to the climate
Check the visible light permeation rate, which acts as a guide to lens brightness. The visible light permeation rate describes the rate of permeation by visible light (light detectable by the human eye) and the brightness passing through the lens and into your field of vision. The naked eye's visible light permeation rate is 100%, so lower rates signify darker colored and dimmer lenses.
